The lambs are arriving. We’ve had three mommas deliver twins three days in a row. I love how the pick they worst weather to deliver. One momma birthed one twin in the sleet and then decided it would be best to have the next one under her shelter. I’m a little short on sleep, probably because instead of taking a nap I spend too much time in amazement of those cute little things. Photos are coming soon.

Our little ram, Beaux as we called him, went to live on a farm over the weekend.

A real farm, in Bedias, TX. Since he is related to most of our flock we couldn’t keep him “intact” as he is coming into his prime. Being castrated is no life for a ram, so we traded him in for a new one.

Our new guy is called Josef (pronounced Yo-Sef) which means “God will increase.”

Now Beaux will live up to his potential with his own group of ladies, and we will have lambs for several seasons. He is a beautiful young ram. He has some colored spots coming in around his face, and he is showing the tips of his horns. Josef has allready proven himself to be a defender. He butted Frank, our dog, pretty hard when we tried to introduce them, and he also went after us for a while. Luckily the food drive is very strong in sheep and he learned that we carry treats. There will always be fond memories of Beaux. He was our first “graduate” after all. We are, however, very excited about the future with Josef.
